For US and some Euro regions, it's a bit different. You simply cannot switch the region with your current MY account. You need to create a brand new US account, with US address etc. Oh, and you cannot buy stuff from the US App Store/iTunes/iBooks with a non-US credit card - must use iTunes gift cards. Not sure how it works for China though. If you can download the app from the Chinese App Store, then it shows your China AppleID is valid and working correctly. If you can't download stuff from within the Kuwo app, then it's the app servers/services that are doing the geo-blocking, not Apple. At least that's my hypothesis. It's the same for stuff like Netflix or HBO. You can download the app from the App Store with a US Apple account, but to stream the content on the app, you'll still need a VPN with a US server.
